5 Traits of a Successful Entrepreneurial Mindset

Jan 09, 2022

Mindset has a Positive Impact on Everything.

When we focus and work on one thing (Mindset) it has a positive impact on everything.

Here is a list of 5 traits of a Successful Entrepreneurial Mindset

  1. Flexibility - as a business owner, you recognize that your vision may not always be able to be executed to the exact specifications you had in mind. This can actually help make things better. In the eternal words of Bob Ross, "There are no mistakes in art, only happy accidents." They are willing to go in a different direction recognizing that it may produce even greater results.
  2. Fearlessness - okay... some fear is inevitably going to be present, but a successful entrepreneur is going to take action in spite of fear. They feel it and do it anyway. They understand that there is always an inherent risk involved and they employ strategies to regulate their nervous systems to be able to tolerate those risks.
  3. Belief - they believe in themselves to the point of deeply knowing that it is all going to work, even if they don't know how it is going to happen. They believe that the services or products they are offering to the world are life enhancing and of value. This translates into the confidence needed to charge one's worth.
  4. Personally Responsible - they understand that at the end of the day, they are personally responsible for everything that occurs within their business. So, even if they recognize someone on their team made an error, they reflect on their role in the problem. They ask questions such as, "What could I have done to support, train, or systematize differently to prevent this from having occurred?" They don't blame or shame - they devise and implement a solution to repair and prevent that same error from occurring again.
  5. Patience - they understand that Rome wasn't built in a day. Their belief helps them to stay committed to realizing their project. They are also patient with those who are on their team and helping them to build their business. They are invested in themselves and the process of creation. They recognize that like all life, creating a business follows a path of growth and development.

As therapists, I think we are poised to be leaders and business owners, as these are things we are helping our clients to achieve on a daily basis. These are skills we know well, but may not always be implementing ourselves. Every now and then I catch myself getting caught up in black and white thinking traps. When I do, it is usually around fear of bringing something new into the world and I have to do more work around it.

If you need support around business mindset, setting up your practice or figuring out how to raise your fees,
email me to schedule a consultation. I would be honored to help you move through blocks around money and mindset.
